Kale chips are a snack staple of the health-conscious. We’ve got something a little different to offer… we have a “Cheezy Chipotle” flavour to share with you today. Let’s get to the recipe!

Tip: To keep kale chips crunchy for longer, take a silicea packet or two from a bottle of vitamins and pop it into your food storage container.

Cheezy Chipotle Kale Chips

Recipe
Ingredients:

1 large bunch Tuscan kale (or curly kale), washed, thoroughly dried and stems removed
1 TBsp extra virgin olive oil
2 TBsp nutritional yeast
½ tsp smoked paprika
¼ tsp garlic
¼ tsp chipotle
dash of cayenne
1/2 tsp sea salt

Instructions:
  1. Preheat your oven to the lowest temperature.
  2. Place kale in a large bowl, drizzle olive oil over it. Knead kale with your hands for a minute to help soften the kale.
  3. Combine remaining ingredients, except for the salt, in a small bowl. Mix well.
  4. Add the seasoning ingredients to the large bowl, and incorporate well into the kale.
  5. On a parchment lined baking sheet, place kale in a single layer. A little overlap is okay, the pieces will shrink a bit.
  6. Sprinkle with sea salt.
  7. Bake in the oven, with the door cracked open, for 1-2 hours or until dry and crispy.

Note: If you have one, these kale chips can be prepared in a dehydrator. Alternatively, to reduce the cooking time you can raise the oven temperature to 350*F, however, you will lose some of the nutritional benefits of kale (still WAY better than potato chips).
